Is ignorance bliss?

Ignorance is looking at signs and seeing them upside-down. Seeing them partially. Distorting them.
Thus ignorance is not bliss. It is just ignorance.
Ignorance can only feel like bliss for a short period, until the wheels turn and what went around comes around, until the time comes to reap what we sowed and so learn from our mistakes.

What can I do?

My only freedom is deciding where to fix my gaze. What to listen to. What I focus on, and what I don´t focus on. What will I do? What is my will to do?

Then, quietly, somewhere hidden, those bytes of information get stored. That is no longer my will. It will happen, regardless. Every cell remembers.

The hidden and the holy have something in common. They laugh in unison.

So what can I do? My only freedom is where to fix my gaze. Maybe if I can hear the laughter...

Mother and Father

Mother matter and Father pattern, substance and form, the path that unites you is wide and deep and full.

So wide, deep and full, that it mixes you, to the point that I may not be able to tell between you. What was first, egg or hen... creating things or things created?

The shapes and patterns and proportions of things are there: behind things, within things, under and over everything. Transparent and omnipresent lattices. But they would not be, they could not be, unless matter was also there, saying: "ok, so it is up till here, down till here, along till this point, and no further".

Who gives, and who receives? Does the shape bestow its gift, or does the substance? The joy of their union is such, their mutual commitment is so clear, that boundaries blur. The bliss of creation is all I can perceive.

As humans, let us partake in that bliss!

Monteverdi knew this

when he wrote his Cantate domino: it might be the same, but we rediscover it every time. Miracles never stop happenning.

Cantate Domino canticum novum, cantate et benedicite nomini ejus: quia mirabilia fecit.
Cantate et exultate et psallite in cythara et voce psalmi quia mirabilia fecit.

Sing a new song to the Lord, sing and praise His name: for He has done miracles.
Sing and exult and praise with harps and the voices of psalms, for He has done miracles.

Mirabilia fecit!

Free will or the imperfect recipients

Light/Radiance/Being is there. It can be here, too. In order for it to be here, I need to grasp it, to be aware of it. This takes effort, stretching  in order to reach, hands up in the air.

I can decide to reach up, to stretch inwardly. That is free will. That is also the Will of Light/Radiance/Being.

This is a paradox: when my will is free, then it is also the Will, and there is none other. In fact, when I decide to reach up or inwardly stretch, I am more free, yet have somehow surrendered my will. This is the big yes: the Will says yes, I say yes. They are the same yes, not two different ones.

There are other types of yes. I might want something which does not require stretching or reaching: most things allow this view. Then my free will allows me to go for it! There is also a yes, and it is a small one: it is a yes to this, but a no-no to all of that. Then I move through trial and error.

Imperfect recipients of the power to create, humans are still creating unpleasant experiences, so that in time humanity might turn towards the big yes. In the meantime, we undergo the experimentation, and learn... so that our choices may be better, next time.

The allegiance of the mirror

The vast power of the subconscious springs from its receptivity, not from its activity.

It is the endpoint of the wand, where it touches the cup and brings things forward into being.

It is the pencil that runs over the pattern, revealing what is beneath, as one does with a leaf and a sheet of paper.

If the superconscious is the origin, the subconscious is the collector, the container of that energy. The Foundation, Yesod, Yod of Sod, seed of the secret.

Then Malkuth is the seen result. But the subconscious did all the hidden work.

This is so only in the absence of any conscious interference, in the event of a transparent wand. Which is a rather rare event, statistically speaking for mankind.

May it be more and more frequent.

Is there a bias?

With his three laws, plus universal gravitation, Newton described a mechanical, predefined universe, driven by the motion of the unmoved mover. From this first movement would ensue, automatically and faultlessly, all the other moves, unfolding in an unstoppable succession. This is what has been implied, at least when speaking of the macrocosm, by mainstream science taught in school.

Such a model has revealed itself as totally inadequate, as we have delved into subatomic particles and their indeterminate behaviour.

In the Tree of Life, this duality between what is governed by laws and that which is uncertain, can be reflected in the balance between Hesed and Geburah. The law stands, but can be bent to an extent we are just beginning to fathom.

There is a bias, an inclination towards Hesed. In a choice between two acts, if there is enough compassion, the one which is more loving will win. The act in Geburah achieves balance between cause and effect, and so advances in the repair, tikun olam, of the world. But the act in Hesed takes shortcuts that Geburah is unaware of, in order to speed things up, centrifugating the tikun, so the Great Work is both perfectly and justly completed, through the Law of Love.

Contemplation of both aspects, from beneath both law and compassion, is possible at the very centre of the Tree, where one can see the beauty of severity and mercy, and their unbalanced balance. And marvel.
